In June 2025, Halo Industry SpA successfully launched its new plant for the production of hydrochloric acid, marking another step in the company’s strategy to enhance its internal resources and promote sustainable development.
The plant, with an annual production capacity of 26,000 tons, uses hydrogen and chlorine generated internally from Halo Industry SpA’s electrolysis cells. This approach diversifies the use of raw materials produced in-house and optimizes the efficiency of the industrial cycle.
Completed in just 18 months, the project required a total investment of 5 million euros. This amount also covers upgrades to auxiliary technological systems (cooling and osmosis systems, treatment plants) and process equipment, including new storage tanks for finished products and the ATB loading bay.
The hydrochloric acid produced is primarily intended for co-located businesses within the Torviscosa industrial area and shareholders of Halo Industry SpA. The aim is to reduce reliance on external suppliers, shorten supply chains, and significantly improve the carbon footprint of the entire production sector.
With this investment, Halo Industry SpA strengthens its commitment to innovation and contributes to the development of the Torviscosa chemical hub.
