Fine chemical area

Caffaro Industrie S.p.A. is constantly prepared to vary the production mix based on market conditions, while taking advantage of the flexibility and versatility of its production technologies. This production area can count on 30 different reactors, which are different in terms of technical characteristics and size, 25 rectification and distillation columns, more than 70 heat exchangers, crystallization units, solid-to-liquid and liquid-to-solid centrifuges, thin film vaporizers, etc., together with a number of storage tanks and pumps appropriate to the quantity and variety of our productions. Our product portfolio is currently based on three main product families: ketones, various types of esters, polycarbonate diols.

The Fine Chemicals Area is divided into two different areas:

• Multi-plant area where we produce ketones like Cyclopentanone – pharma, agrochemicals, flavors and fragrances, electronics – or Diethyl Ketone – agrochemicals, photography and lithography –, our Ravecarb, which are polycarbonate diols increasingly used all over the world in all high performance PU based systems – i.e. coatings, paints, adhesives, elastomers, sealants, synthetic leathers… – and epoxidized soybean oil.
• Multipurpose area where we produce various esters under Freeflex brand name – plasticizers for TPU – as well as other ketones like Dicyclohexyl Ketone, Propiophenone and Isobutyrophenone – all for pharma, agrochemicals, photo-initiators.
